Sigrid breaks ZZZ’s build rules — here’s why you skip Crit Rate entirely

Most Attack Agents in Zenless Zone Zero have to scrape for Crit Rate from every substat and main stat slot. Sigrid laughs at that. She walks into battle with 85.4 percent Crit Rate just from leveling up — no gear required. That single number reshapes her entire build, and it’s the first thing any player needs to understand before spending resources on her.

Sigrid arrived in version 3.1 as an Ice DPS who fights from the air using her Aerial Patrol Spear. Her Basic Attack: Converging Spear chains into multiple hits while she’s in that state. Because her base Crit Rate is already sky-high, you can ignore the stat entirely on your Drive Discs and W-Engines. Every slot that would normally go to Crit Rate can instead pour into Crit DMG and PEN Ratio, which is where her real damage lives.

What makes Sigrid different from other DPS agents

The typical Attack Agent needs a careful balance of Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Sigrid flips that formula. Her kit gives her so much free Crit Rate that you treat it as already capped. Your job is to stack Crit DMG as high as possible and then push PEN Ratio to cut through enemy defenses. Her ATK stat gets saturated quickly from her own kit and team buffs, which is why PEN Ratio outperforms ATK% or Ice DMG on Disc 5.

This design makes her surprisingly straightforward to build. There’s no agonizing over whether you have enough Crit Rate. You don’t need to fish for that perfect substat roll. Just go all in on the stats she actually lacks.

Best W-Engines for Sigrid

Knight’s Extolment is Sigrid’s signature W-Engine, and it fits her perfectly. It provides a massive Crit DMG boost and ignores a portion of enemy Ice RES. If you can get it, that’s her best-in-slot without question.

For players who don’t want to pull the signature, there are strong alternatives:

• The Brimstone — This is the best F2P option. It stacks ATK% each time you hit with a Basic Attack, and Sigrid does that constantly while in her Aerial Patrol Spear state. At refinement 5, it comes close to matching Knight’s Extolment.
• Severed Innocence — Soldier 0 – Anby’s signature weapon gives 98 percent Crit DMG at refinement 1. That’s a huge stat stick for Sigrid.
• Starlight Engine — The top A-Rank choice. Easy to get and delivers a solid ATK boost.

One warning: stay away from Crit Rate W-Engines like Myriad Eclipse or Deep Sea Visitor unless you have literally nothing else equipped. Sigrid does not need more Crit Rate, and those weapons waste their potential on her. You are better off running an A-Rank Crit DMG or ATK weapon than a high-rarity Crit Rate one.
