Zenless Zone Zero’s October Wallpaper Is Free, and It Hides a Curious Cake Tease

Anyone who keeps Zenless Zone Zero art on a phone or desktop now has a fresh, free option for October 2026. HoYoverse put the month’s calendar wallpaper up on the official channel, and one download covers both mobile and PC. There is no login wall and no cost attached. The surprise is what rides along with the image: a short dialogue exchange that leaves the speaker unnamed and the scene unexplained.

That dialogue is the part worth pausing on. It reads:

“Sorry, milady’s busy right now. She can’t meet with anyone.”

“The cakes from the limited-edition tea set are melting? …Hold on, let me go ask her.”

A butler or maid figure is the natural guess, but HoYoverse never says who is talking. That silence is doing a lot of work. A limited-edition tea set, a melting cake, a lady too busy to see visitors. It is oddly specific for a calendar background, and it is easy to see why players are reading into it. It could be a nod at an upcoming event or character, or it could be pure seasonal flavor. Nothing is confirmed, so treat every theory as unconfirmed and subject to change.

What the download actually includes

The file comes straight from HoYoverse through the official link. The page offers separate versions for phone and PC, and the official post lists no extra steps and no account requirement. The exact resolution is not stated. Whether the image is a plain static file is also left unsaid, though the monthly series so far has stuck to simple stills.

How to set it up

1. Open the official HoYoverse download page.
2. Choose the phone or PC version.
3. Save the file and apply it as your wallpaper.

That is the whole process. No rewards, no event progress, no reason to rush. If the art is your style, grab it while October is still on the calendar. If not, nothing about the game changes either way.

The bigger picture

HoYoverse has shipped a monthly calendar wallpaper for Zenless Zone Zero for a while now, and October 2026 keeps the streak alive. The dialogue snippet is the only part of this drop that feels like it might point somewhere. Until the studio says more, the safe read is a free cosmetic with a little flavor attached.
