Kuro Games details Wuthering Waves 3.6: two new Resonators, a 10 FPS boost, and 300 free Astrites

Kuro Games packed more than new character banners into the Wuthering Waves 3.6 preview broadcast. Tucked alongside the debut of Qingxiao and Jingran was a performance target that directly affects how the game plays: a roughly 10 FPS improvement in specific scenarios on iOS, PC, and PS5. For anyone who has felt the frame stutter during a mid-combat dodge, that number matters as much as any banner rate-up.

The update lands on August 7, 2026, at 19:00 UTC+8. It adds a new zone, a new Echo, a handful of limited-time events, and three redemption codes that are still active. Here is a breakdown of everything worth knowing before the servers go live.

Banner schedule: two phases, five 5-stars

Version 3.6 splits its character lineup across two phases. Phase 1 runs Qingxiao and Denia as the 5-star draws, with Yangyang, Baizhi, and Sanhua filling the 4-star pool. Phase 2 brings Jingran, Hiyuki, and Mornye as 5-stars, supported by Mortefi, Aalto, and Yuanwu at 4-star rarity.

Qingxiao and Jingran are the only true newcomers this patch. Everyone else is a rerun. That makes the decision simpler for collectors who need the new units, but trickier for players who are missing one or more of the returning 5-stars. Denia, Hiyuki, and Mornye all still slot into specific team compositions without much trouble.

What the performance gains actually mean

The 3.6 update ships optimization work that Kuro Games says yields around 10 FPS in targeted scenarios. The company called out iOS, PC, and PS5 as the platforms that will see the clearest benefit, though the patch should help every device to some degree. Real-world results will depend on hardware specs and graphics settings, but a double-digit frame-rate bump is uncommon for a mid-cycle patch and suggests Kuro is still investing heavily in engine-level tuning.

Ren Realm and Calamity Effigy

A new zone called Ren Realm opens for exploration. It comes with puzzles, resources, and enemy encounters that tie into the ongoing story. A new Echo, Calamity Effigy, also arrives with this patch. Kuro Games has not shared its stats or set effects in official materials.

Event lineup

The livestream showed six limited-time events, though exact dates and reward quantities were not disclosed. The list includes:

  • Resonance Sim Realm — a combat-focused challenge.
  • The Strings Remember — event type and rewards unconfirmed.
  • Second Coming of Solaris Coded Deception — likely tied to the story or a combat gauntlet.
  • If Dream Still Reverberate — a limited-time activity.
  • Tactical Hologram: Sparring — another combat encounter.
  • Log-in Rewards — daily check-in bonuses.

These events typically run for the duration of the patch. Players who want to maximize Astrite income should plan their play sessions around them, especially if they are not spending on Lunite packs.

Livestream codes: 300 Astrites, limited time

The broadcast came with three redemption codes: HEARTOFSWORD, ETERNALFLAME, and THEANSWER. Together they give 300 Astrites plus upgrade and recovery materials. Codes expire after a short window, so redeeming them as soon as possible is the safe play. Kuro Games allows redemption through the in-game menu or the official website.

Pull planning for F2P and spenders

Three hundred Astrites from codes is a small buffer, not a guarantee. It takes roughly 160 pulls to hit hard pity on a character banner, and the free codes cover a fraction of that. F2P players who are undecided between Qingxiao and Jingran might benefit from waiting a few days after launch for community testing on both kits. Low-spenders looking at the 6480+1600 Lunites bundle should check their current pity count and monthly pass status before committing.

Version 3.6 of Wuthering Waves arrives on August 7, 2026, at 19:00 UTC+8.
