A TierJiuyuan Build Guide
Jiuyuan serves as an Anima-based burst DPS, effectively only coming in to perform her combo when her energy is full and her special bullets are maxed out. Combined with her relatively quickswap playstyle, frontloaded Ultimate, and Blossom enhancements, she secures a spot on A-tier due to the versatility of her kit both as a DPS and as a Support.
Strengths
- High burst damage with frontloaded Ultimate
- Quickswap playstyle allows flexible team rotations
- Skill provides wide crowd control and grouping
- Versatile as a sub-DPS or support in Blossom teams
Weaknesses
- Requires energy and bullet management for optimal damage
- Teams are often sustainless, lacking healing
- Passive only works in Blossom teams, limiting team options
- Skill grouping can be disrupted by other attacks
Best Arcs
Increases Anima DMG by 15%. Increases the wearer's Attachment DMG by 10%, increasing to 20% for 6s after casting an Ultimate.
Increases ATK by 20% when HP is above 50%; increases DEF by 20% when HP is below 50%.
Increases ATK by 12% for 10s after casting a Redirect Skill, triggering once every 20s.
Best Cartridge
Epic (2): Anima DMG +10%. Legendary (4): Increases wearer's CRIT DMG by 8% per stack when an enemy takes Anima DMG from the team, up to 7 stacks. Stacks last 10s and persist off-field.
Best Main Stat: CRIT DMG or Cycle Intensity
- CRIT DMG is universal for Jiuyuan as a quickswap sub-DPS.
- Cycle Intensity is recommended in Blossom teams, especially with another Anima DPS like Nanally.
Module Layout
Required Modules
Bonus: Type II (+6% CRIT Rate)
Total Bonus: +30% CRIT Rate
Substat Priority
- This layout activates the 4-piece effect of Fireflies and the Forest while maximizing bonus module CRIT Rate.
- Focus on substats that improve damage consistency and overall output.
Best Teams
A sustainless team focused on Blossom reactions, with Nanally as the main on-field DPS and Jiuyuan as a burst sub-DPS.
Nanally
Main DPS
Takes over on-field after Jiuyuan's burst.
Jiuyuan
Sub-DPS
Provides burst damage and grouping with her skill.
Zero
Sub-DPS
Quickswap enabler for Esper Cycle.
Sakiri
Buffer
Generalist buffer for the team.
Start with Jiuyuan's skill to group and apply Lethal Rose Pact.
Cycle through supports and buffers, then use Nanally for sustained damage.
End rotation with Jiuyuan's Ultimate to trigger Pact Settlement and restart.
- Team has no healer, so focus on crowd control and burst damage to minimize incoming damage.
A Hexed team using Jiuyuan as a burst sub-DPS alongside an Anima main DPS, with Sakiri as buffer and Adler for shields and Incantation application.
Nanally
Main DPS (Flex)
Can be replaced with Mint for similar role.
Jiuyuan
Sub-DPS
Burst damage and grouping.
Sakiri
Buffer
Buffing both main DPS and Jiuyuan.
Adler
Support
Provides shields and Incantation for Hexed Esper Cycle.
Alternatives
Use Adler for shields and Incantation application.
Jiuyuan skill to group and apply Lethal Rose Pact initially, then switch to main DPS.
After damage window, Jiuyuan Ultimate to detonate Pact Settlement.
- Jiuyuan's passive is designed for Blossom, so it won't be utilized in this team. However, she still provides strong burst damage.
Skill Priority
Intel Hunter (Skill)
Mainly used to apply Lethal Rose Pact to enemies. Can be leveled later.
Intel Lock-On (Support Skill)
Provides a secondary source of Rose Pact Bullets. Level last.
When Secrets Take Shape (Basic Attack)
Used every other rotation to unload her Rose Pact Bullets. Max second to improve its damage.
Final Reckoning (Ultimate)
The bulk of Jiuyuan's damage. Max this first since it is responsible for 80% of her damage output during her burst window.
Awakening Priority
Intel Superiority
Amazing Awakening Effect that gives Jiuyuan an 8% DMG increase for every instance of DMG she performs to enemies afflicted by Lethal Rose Pact. This usually means all ticks of her Ultimate deal 8% more DMG in total.
Intel Turns Into Blades
Mainly taken for the DMG ratio increase to Lethal Rose Pact. Also provides some healing when Pact Settlement is triggered, making it both a DPS increase and a welcome Quality-of-Life upgrade.
Strike to Kill
Increases DMG when Pact Settlement is triggered. Good on paper, but can only be used on second rotation and onwards, or with Anima teammates, since it allows Jiuyuan to end her combos with improved Rose Pact Bullet DMG before swapping off.
Know Every Secret
Deals DMG to enemies afflicted by Lethal Rose Pact, but is inconsistent since it relies on enemies performing attacks, which makes its usefulness inconsistent since teams should optimally be able to weakness break enemies reliably.
To Know, To Balance
Gives Jiuyuan a 5% to 15% ATK bonus for inflicting a maximum of 3 enemies with Lethal Rose Pact. Not too big of an upgrade, but it is welcome.
Advantage Established
Deals bonus break damage to the Pact Settlement target when casting Ultimate. Should be saved for last since it does not contribute much to Jiuyuan's overall damage.
How to Play
Regardless of whether your team has another grouper like Sakiri, Jiuyuan should go first to cast her Skill and apply Lethal Rose Pact on enemies. Switch to your supports after and do their prerequisite rotations. Then switch to your Main or Secondary DPS and perform their damage rotations while Jiuyuan's Lethal Rose Pact activates and times down. Upon switching back to Jiuyuan, optionally expend any Rose Pact Bullets on your enemies, then end your rotation with her Ultimate to trigger Pact Settlement, dealing more damage to enemies.
Rotations
- 1 Sample Full Rotation: Jiuyuan Skill → Shield/Mitigation Skill → Buffer Skill → Buffer Ultimate → Esper Zero Skill → Switch to DPS and perform rotation → Jiuyuan Ultimate
Tips
- Use Skill to group enemies at the start of combat; the pull is wide and effective.
- Lethal Rose Pact lasts 25 seconds and deals continuous HP damage; it can be left to explode naturally if you don't need immediate burst.
- Team up with Cosmos or Incantation characters to utilize Jiuyuan's passive in Blossom teams or her general synergy in Hexed teams.
- Avoid using attacks that scatter grouped enemies after Jiuyuan's pull.
