Double Electro banners arrive in Genshin Impact 5.8: Flins and Ineffa share the pity pool
Two Electro 5-stars are running at the same time, and they share a pity counter. That changes the math on how you spend your Primogems, whether you have been saving for Flins, Ineffa, or both.
From September 1 at 18:00 until September 22 at 14:59 (server time), the double banner system lets you pull on either “The Lone Light Knocks at Night” (Flins) or “Astral Actuation” (Ineffa) without losing your pity progress. Every wish you make on one banner moves the same counter. That is good news if you are undecided — you can wait and see which character you get first. It also means you can accidentally trigger a 5-star on the wrong banner if you are not paying attention.
What the banners look like
The 4-star lineup is identical on both character banners. Aino (Hydro), Iansan (Electro), and Lan Yan (Anemo) share boosted rates no matter which 5-star you target. That makes the choice between Flins and Ineffa purely about the 5-star unit itself, because the supporting cast does not change.
- Banner 1, “The Lone Light Knocks at Night”: Flins (Electro, 5-star)
- Banner 2, “Astral Actuation”: Ineffa (Electro, 5-star)
- Weapon banner, “Epitome Invocation”: Bloodsoaked Ruins (polearm) and Fractured Halo (polearm) as the rate-up 5-stars
- 4-star weapons on the weapon banner: The Flute, Favonius Greatsword, Favonius Lance, Eye of Perception, The Stringless
The weapon banner carries both new polearms. You can set Epitomized Path to guarantee which one you walk away with, but the usual 50-50 rules still apply before the path kicks in.
Flins: the off-field Electro support
Flins is not a main DPS. Her value comes from consistent off-field Electro application and energy generation, which makes her a natural fit for reaction-heavy teams. If your account lacks a reliable Electro applicator — someone who keeps the element on enemies while your on-field character does something else — she fills that gap cleanly.
She slots into Hyperbloom teams alongside Dendro characters such as Nahida or Alhaitham. The idea is simple: Dendro plus Hydro creates Dendro cores, and Flins triggers them with Electro from off-field. She also works in Aggravate compositions with Fischl or Beidou, where the goal is constant Electro uptime for quicken reactions.
Ineffa: the on-field burst DPS
Ineffa plays a different role. She is a main DPS whose damage lives in her burst, and that means she needs a team that can feed her energy. Without enough Energy Recharge or a battery partner, her rotation stalls.
A common setup pairs Ineffa with Bennett for the attack buff, Xiangling for Pyro resonance and off-field damage, and Kazuha for crowd control and elemental damage bonus. Sucrose can replace Kazuha if you need her elemental mastery sharing instead. The core constraint is the same: Ineffa needs her burst up every rotation, so plan your team around that.
Shared pity: the double-edged sword
The shared pity system between the two character banners is worth understanding before you pull. Every wish builds toward the same soft pity threshold (around 75 wishes) and hard pity (90 wishes). If you are at 70 wishes with no 5-star yet, you are one 10-pull away on either banner.
That is convenient if you want both characters and do not care which one arrives first. It is risky if you only want one. A moment of distraction — pulling on the wrong banner at soft pity — can cost you your guarantee. The safest approach is to pick one banner, stick to it, and treat the other as off-limits until you get your target.
Free rewards from the Test Run
During the banner window, the Test Run event gives you a chance to play Flins, Ineffa, and the three featured 4-stars in preset teams. Completing the challenge stages rewards you with Primogems and materials. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing, so it is worth doing even if you are not pulling.
What to check before you spend
- Open your wish history and count your pity. If you are above 70, you are in soft pity range and a 5-star could drop at any moment.
- Decide which character you want first and only pull on that banner until you get them.
- Hold onto your Starglitter if you plan to buy Intertwined Fates from the shop during the banner period.
- Look at your current roster. Do you need off-field Electro application (Flins) or an on-field Electro carry (Ineffa)? The answer changes which banner you should touch.
