Baicang is an Incantation Main DPS who draws damage from several sources in his kit, chaining multiple combos to cover both burst and sustained damage. His combo-heavy moveset is powerful but demanding to execute, which keeps him at A-tier behind more convenient S-rank carries.
Strengths
- Deals large amounts of Incantation DMG from multiple parts of his kit for both burst and sustained damage
- Ultimate can instantly execute enemies below 10% HP (5% for bosses)
- Decent solo potential thanks to self-healing and dodge-based offensive tools
- Flexible combos give him versatile use cases across single-target and AoE fights
- Pairs well with Anima teams for Hexed or Chaos teams for Scorch Cycle

- Core combos are difficult to execute consistently
- His moveset can feel clunky compared to other S-rank DPS options
- Best-in-slot Arc drains his HP, so a healer is strongly recommended
- Long field time forces supports to front-load their buffs before he comes in
Best Arcs
Silent Garden: Increases CRIT DMG by 12% for 5s when the wearer's HP is reduced without taking damage, up to 4 stacks. Unlocks Arc: Silent Garden, which consumes 5% of current HP and randomly performs Harsh Rebuke (5 instances of 24% ATK Incantation DMG) or Incessant Nagging (6 instances of 18% ATK Incantation DMG, final instance doubled) on a 25s cooldown.
Tidal Ascension: Grants the wearer 10% ATK, 10% DEF, and 10% HP when the team has at least 3 different Esper Types.
Best Cartridge
Epic (2): Incantation DMG +10%. Legendary (4): Increases wearer's ATK by 6% when a nearby enemy takes Incantation DMG from the Team, up to 6 stacks, each lasting 10s and remaining active off-field.
Best Main Stat: CRIT DMG or Incantation DMG Bonus
- CRIT DMG is the general go-to, helping Baicang hold a healthy 1:2 CRIT ratio for consistent damage
- Incantation DMG Bonus is the min-max option for raw damage, but relies on strong substats elsewhere to balance his stats

Front-load support skills, buffs, and Ultimates, then swap to Baicang last since he needs long field time
Use Daffodill's rotation to break weaknesses and apply Scorch before Baicang takes over
Keep Baicang on-field for the full Ultimate duration, then swap out and restart the cycle

Skill Priority
Walk the Talk (Basic Attack)
Level it secondarily since it is used frequently in his combos, though it is more of an add-on to his pseudo-burst rotations.
Break Time Over (Support Skill)
Deals one additional instance of Incantation DMG over time. Lowest priority since Baicang is a proactive DPS rather than a passive one.
Judgment of Autumn (Ultimate)
Provides considerable burst DMG, passive DoT damage, and improves all of Baicang's existing damage. Take this first.
Generous Guidance (Skill)
Baicang's main source of damage with very versatile use cases. Max it alongside his Ultimate.
Awakening Priority
White Aspect
A free 30% CRIT Rate boost during his Ultimate more than justifies picking this up first.
Yo, Captain!
Adds bonus damage to Baicang's Silence and reduces Skill cooldown when Objurgate is triggered, offering strong quality-of-life upgrades.
In Honor of Moonlight
Extends his Ultimate duration from 12s to 16s, reducing downtime between damage windows.
Or Perhaps Blessings
Especially strong with his best-in-slot Arc, healing him for the exact HP cost and more during his Ultimate.
Curses Spoken Into Being
Raises the Power Word generation limit, mostly useful as a prerequisite for A2; limited impact on its own.
Soul Caller
Can provide up to 24% bonus ATK when Power Words are generated, good once A3 is available.
How to Play
Baicang is a long-field-time Incantation DPS who goes last in the rotation and builds damage through dodge-based special attacks, three Skill forms, and an Ultimate that applies Silence or Objurgate and can instantly execute weakened enemies. His self-healing and kit autonomy give him strong solo potential.
Rotations

Tips
- Hold dodge while moving to perform Formless Words (small jump, three projectiles in a cone) and hold dodge while stationary to perform Unrestrained Words (three projectiles fired further forward); both open up his Special Skill
- Skill form Heart of Heaven and Earth releases a small burst at a single enemy; dodge then Skill performs Silenced Thought (three projectiles, applies Silence, ideal for bosses); hold basic attack then Skill performs Such Crime (wide AoE, applies Objurgate, ideal for groups)
- During the Ultimate, hitting Silence-affected enemies deals extra single-target damage and hitting Objurgate-affected enemies deals extra AoE Incantation damage
- Basic Attacks apply Bless which does nothing on its own, but heals Baicang for 5% of his HP every 3 hits landed during his Ultimate
- Enemies below 10% HP (5% for bosses) are executed outright during the Ultimate, shown by a black-and-white impact frame
- Pair him with Anima teammates to trigger Hexed or Chaos teammates to trigger Scorch, with Scorch preferred for his long on-field time
