Catcher — early game support

The early game build focuses on straightforward stat boosts to make Catcher tankier and his shields more effective. OBJ Heavy Burden and the Armored MSGR set provide a solid foundation of HP, DEF, and damage reduction, ensuring he can survive and protect allies while working towards his endgame setup.

OBJ Heavy Burden is the early free‑to‑play option that directly amplifies Catcher’s shield strength by increasing DEF, especially after using Textbook Assault.

Armored MSGR gear boosts his primary and secondary stats (Strength and Will), which both improve his durability, and the low‑HP damage reduction helps bridge the gap before his shields activate.

If you lack OBJ Heavy Burden, Quencher is a decent alternative that raises Will and provides an ATK increase when finishing off enemies.

OBJ Heavy Burden offers a large DEF boost whenever Catcher applies Knocked Down or Weakened, synergizing with his ultimate.
The Armored MSGR set adds Strength and Will, and grants damage reduction when HP is low, fitting his conditional sustain.

Ember — early game support

Former Finery's HP and healing stats, paired with the Armored MSGR set's defensive perks, make her a reliable tank from the start. This setup ensures she can fulfill her sustain role in all early content and easily transition into the endgame build.

Former Finery is obtainable from the New Horizons weapon selector, offering a straightforward stat stick for survivability. Early essence priorities lean into efficacy and HP to keep the team alive.

Armored MSGR gear is easy to farm early and directly contributes to Ember's tankiness via Strength and conditional DMG reduction. The double Flashlight setup is a common placeholder until better cores are acquired.

If Former Finery is not available, Quencher fills the gap with similar HP/Will scaling.

Former Finery boosts HP, Will, and HP restoration, making it the easiest and most effective early-game choice.

Former Finery was chosen because it triggers a secondary heal when a Protected ally takes damage, covering Snowshine’s weakness of being limited to her Combo Skill for sustain.

The LYNX gear set amplifies her healing while adding a defensive layer through damage reduction, making her team much tankier in prolonged fights.

Thunderberge is an alternative if you want additional shields, while Finishing Call and Quencher are F2P options that still boost healing.

LYNX set increases Treatment Efficiency and grants 15% DMG Reduction to healed allies (30% if overheal).
Former Finery allows out-of‑Combo healing and scales with Will, synergizing perfectly with LYNX’s focus on healing output.
