HP%
HP% substat directly boosts shield strength. Passive grants team Elemental Mastery after Skill hits, enhancing reaction damage.
HP%
HP% secondary stat increases shield absorption. Passive adds a small team heal after triggering Freeze or Melt.
CRIT Rate
High CRIT Rate substat and passive convert HP to ATK, but HP% is less effective for shields. Only if no HP weapon available.
Energy Recharge
Energy recharge substat fuels Burst uptime. Passive generates energy particles for the team, especially with high CRIT Rate.
Elemental Mastery
High Elemental Mastery for team reaction damage. Passive boosts team ATK and Normal/Charged Attack DMG after triggering reactions.
Energy Recharge
Free-to-play option with HP% substat. Passive increases ATK after using Burst, but shield scaling remains low.
Artifacts
2-piece boosts HP% for stronger shields. 4-piece increases team ATK and shield strength when Skill hits enemies, perfect for support.
2-piece increases HP% and healing, but Layla doesn't heal effectively. 4-piece is designed for Pyro/Hydro reactions, not ideal.
2-piece boosts HP% for shield capacity. 4-piece increases Elemental DMG after losing HP, but Layla rarely loses HP as a shielder; niche.
2-piece boosts Burst DMG. 4-piece increases team ATK after using Burst, useful for quick swap support builds.

Recommended Primary Stats
SUPPORT
Prioritize Layla's shield, not personal damage.
Weapon Choices:
Primordial Jade Cutter: More value if investing into her damage.
Favonius Sword: Build some CRIT Rate to trigger passive consistently.
Freedom-Sworn: Good support option in teams where she consistently triggers passive.
Artifact Sets:
Tenacity of the Millelith (4): Best option — provides HP%, teamwide ATK%, and Shield Strength buff.
SUPPORT AND DAMAGE
Shield is very durable — high Base DMG Absorption and many Shield Strength modifiers. Personal damage scales well with Constellations (5 and 6). Higher investment than pure support, trading some shield durability for more damage.
Weapon Choices:
Harbinger of Dawn [R5]: Ranking assumes >90% HP. As off-field character, uptime is usually good — but may be unrealistic vs corrosion or in certain teams.
Wolf-Fang: At [R5] performs similarly to Harbinger of Dawn [R5].
Favonius Sword: Much worse personal damage, but extra team particles can be valuable.
Artifact Sets:
Tenacity of the Millelith (4): Best for shield durability and often best for team damage.
Blizzard Strayer (4): Best for personal damage when enemies are affected by Cryo or Frozen.
Artifact Main Stats:
HP%/Cryo/CRIT ideal for personal damage. Additional HP% Main Stats boost shield durability with little damage loss — her damage partially scales with HP%.
