endgame support

Snowshine is a 5-Star Cryo Defender built around shielding and healing rather than damage. She shines in Shatter-oriented teams because she can apply both Cryo Infliction and Solidification, but much of her kit only pays off when enemies actually hit the ally she is protecting, which makes her less reliable than a straightforward healer.
This is the endgame support setup for Snowshine. Former Finery supplies healing outside of Polar Rescue, letting her keep the team topped up even when the Combo Skill has not triggered, while the Eternal Xiranite set leans into Will and Treatment Bonus to raise her overall healing output. The important interaction is that Saturated Defense applies the Protected buff on use, which instantly switches on the set effect and grants the whole team extra damage for a window. Because Snowshine is not heavily gear-demanding, the pieces matter less than hitting the triggering condition reliably and stacking Will for stronger heals. When burst damage rather than healing is the problem, the Thunderberge build keeps the same set but replaces the weapon so her protective tools extend a little further.

Insights

Core Mechanics

  • Saturated Defense raises a shield, grants Protection to Snowshine and nearby allies, and immediately refunds SP; while the shield holds, incoming hits trigger a Cryo retaliation that applies Cryo Infliction.
  • Polar Rescue fires when the controlled operator is attacked while below 60% HP, delivering a large instant heal plus a short continuous heal to allies in the area.
  • Frigid Snowfield drops a Snow Zone that ticks Cryo damage and forcibly applies Solidification, opening the window for Shatter burst.
  • The SAR Professional talent feeds extra Ultimate energy every time the shield successfully retaliates, so absorbing hits speeds up her Ultimate loop.

Scaling

  • Will is her primary healing scaler: both the instant and the over-time portions of Polar Rescue increase with the stat.
  • The Polar Survival talent adds bonus treatment against low-HP targets, so her effective throughput rises as fights become more dangerous.
  • Investment floor is low: the basic attack can be left untouched entirely when she is used purely as a support, and the Battle Skill and Ultimate are levelled mainly for utility.

Team Role

Snowshine occupies the sustain and setup slot of a team rather than a damage slot. Her typical pattern is to open with Saturated Defense so the squad is covered by Protection while she banks SP, then let the shield's retaliation paint Cryo Infliction onto attackers. Because Polar Rescue only activates once the controlled operator is hit below 60% HP, she wants to be the one soaking pressure or sitting next to whoever is, so the trigger keeps firing and the continuous heal keeps ticking on the group. Her Ultimate is less about its damage and more about the forced Solidification, which is the cue for the rest of the team to unload Shatter damage. She fits best alongside characters that convert Solidification or Cryo status into burst, and she is a reasonable fill-in for any squad that just needs a second layer of survival tools. Outside those Cryo interaction teams, her value drops because she offers little personal damage and her healing is reactive.

Explanation

Former Finery wins the top slot because its Efficacy effect gives Snowshine a healing source that is not tied to her Combo Skill, so she can support between triggers.
The Eternal Xiranite suite is a natural fit: Saturated Defense applies Protected on cast, which satisfies the set's trigger condition and passes a damage bonus to the rest of the squad.
Finishing Call is a strong fallback with larger raw heals and easier access, while Thunderberge sacrifices healing volume in exchange for shields that blunt high burst damage.

Notes

  • Essence priority on the weapon: Efficacy first, then Will Boost, then HP Boost.
  • Alternative essence lines for the backup weapons lead with Medicant, followed by a mix of Strength and HP Boost.
  • Swap to Thunderberge when the run features heavy burst risks such as Thrill or Decapitate in Contingency Contract.
