Explanation

BrantBrant
Brant brings a unique set of skills to the table, offering team-wide buffs and sustain without compromising his personal damage output. By converting ER to Attack, he proves to be a valuable asset, particularly when paired with Changli. Even in F2P teams focused on Basic Attacks and Resonance Skills, Brant's abilities make him a desirable addition.
dreamlessdreamless
Changli is often paired with other characters to create a formidable team. With the right combination, she can unleash her full potential and deal significant damage. Her abilities make her a great fit for teams that focus on specific elements or playstyles.
JianxinJianxin
Jianxin occupies a middle ground, exceling as both a Main and Sub-DPS in Wuthering Waves. Her versatility allows her to provide grouping and AoE damage against multiple enemies, while her Outro Skill buffs Resonance Liberation DMG, making her a great Sub-DPS. However, her lack of a defined role in the meta causes her to fall behind other characters.
Rover: SpectroRover: Spectro
Spectro Rover is a jack-of-all-trades, providing excellent Sub-DPS capabilities with her time stop Outro Skill and showcasing impressive Resonance Liberation damage. Although she has potential as a Main-DPS, her versatility leads to her being outclassed by characters with more defined roles in the meta.
AaltoAalto
Aalto serves as a reliable Sub-DPS unit, capable of buffing Aero DMG while dealing decent damage on his own. However, his abilities are surpassed by other Sub-DPS characters like Mortefi, who can deal damage even when off-field.
YuanwuYuanwu
Yuanwu is a Sub-DPS unit that follows up with coordinated Electro DMG, even when he's off-field. He also has the ability to reduce the enemy's Vibration Strength, but this only applies if the enemy is within the circle of effect, making it easily avoidable by mobile enemies.
BaizhiBaizhi
Baizhi is a pure healer who can be used in place of Shorekeeper and Verina. She excels at burst-healing using her Resonance Skill and Liberation, and can continuously heal and buff the next character that takes the field. However, her buffs only apply to the next character, limiting the flow of switching and making her less desirable than Verina.
YouhuYouhu
Youhu is a healer-support hybrid who can provide multiple buffs and effects in battle, from healing to vibration strength depletion efficiency. However, her kit is based on a RNG system, making her abilities extremely inconsistent and sometimes disruptive to team rotations. Her Outro Skill only buffs the incoming resonator's Coordinated Attack, which is a niche ability.
LumiLumi
Lumi is a Sub-DPS unit who can provide Resonance Skill DMG Amplification via her Outro Skill. Her kit is straightforward, with good multipliers for her Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation. Although her damage falls off when using Basic Attacks, she can deal decent damage when her Forte Circuit is full, making her a good 4-star Resonance Skill Amplification unit.
LingyangLingyang
Lingyang is currently outclassed by his 5-star peers, particularly those with impressive AoE damage capabilities. He lacks a dedicated Glacio support, and his damage output is subpar compared to other Main-DPS characters.
YangyangYangyang
Yangyang is the first free 4-star character that all players will obtain. While she provides decent damage and utility with her Aero grouping, she quickly becomes outdated once better Sub-DPS characters with DMG buffs are unlocked.
ChixiaChixia
Chixia is a DPS unit who excels against hordes of enemies due to her mobility and ease of use. She can take on single-target bosses with ease, as long as proper repositioning and evasion are employed. However, her benefits diminish when facing mobs of enemies, as she can be easily overwhelmed if not managed carefully.
TaoqiTaoqi
Taoqi has found a new role as a Sub-DPS in teams, providing Resonance Skill amplification and quick-switch damage with her Resonance Liberation. However, her issues with split scaling between her Forte and Shields persist, and she could have been a great Sub-DPS-Support hybrid character if her scaling were consistent across her kit.
