Last Rite is an S-tier Cryo Striker who can run as a main hypercarry or as a supporting damage dealer. Her low-cost Battle Skill is among the cheapest ways to apply Cryo Infliction, letting her either enable another Cryo carry or fuel her own Combo Skill. That dependence on exact Infliction counts makes her more restrictive than other carries, and stage or boss mechanics can quietly gut her output.
endgamedpslate_gamehypercarrycryoburstarts_dmg
The endgame Last Rite setup pairs Khravengger with the Tide Surge set to maximize Skill and Arts damage. Khravengger contributes Skill DMG, Cryo DMG, Strength and Attack, while Tide Surge rewards her cheap Cryo Infliction with a long-lasting Arts DMG buff that stays active through most of a fight. Swordmancer Light Armor fills the off-piece slot for its matching attributes and Ultimate Gain, which keeps her expensive Ultimate cycling every other rotation when she reliably consumes 4 Cryo stacks; in Yvonne teams where she never spends stacks, that Ultimate comes up roughly every third rotation. The remaining slots use Hanging River O2 Tubes for stable stats. If she reaches Potential 4 or fights where 4-stack Combo Skills are guaranteed, the armor can be replaced with Type 50 Yinglung Light Armor for more damage.

Explanation

Weapon choice: Khravengger is taken for its Skill DMG and Cryo DMG bonuses alongside Strength and Attack, all of which translate directly into her damage.
Alternative weapons: Sundered Prince adds Strength and Attack but only pays off with on-field play, Seeker of Dark Lung is a lower-rarity Strength and Ultimate Gain option, and Industry 0.1 serves as a placeholder.
Gear logic: Tide Surge converts her frequent Cryo Infliction into a 15-second Arts DMG buff, and the Swordmancer off-piece adds Ultimate Gain so her Ultimate cycle stays smooth.
Situational swap: at Potential 4 the reduced Ultimate cost frees her to drop the Swordmancer armor for Type 50 Yinglung and chase a higher damage ceiling.

Notes

  • Khravengger with the Tide Surge set is the top pairing because both push her Skill and Arts damage at once.
  • Swordmancer Light Armor supplies the Ultimate Gain she needs to land her 240-cost Ultimate every other rotation.
  • Once she is at Potential 4, or when 4-stack Combo Skills are consistent, the armor can be swapped for Type 50 Yinglung.
  • Sundered Prince is usable but expects her to stay on-field to get value from its Stagger bonus.

The early game version of Last Rite runs Seeker of Dark Lung together with the Armored MSGR set. Seeker of Dark Lung is a lower-rarity greatsword that grants Strength and Ultimate Gain, which matters because Armored MSGR itself only raises her stats and survivability instead of boosting damage. Armored MSGR gives a large Strength bonus plus damage reduction when her HP falls below half, and its kit pieces add Attack on top. Mordvolt Insulation Gloves take the glove slot because their Arts DMG Bonus and Will scale her damage better than the Armored MSGR gloves, whose Final DMG Reduction does not contribute to her output. Treat this as a transitional build until better greatswords and Tide Surge gear are available.

Explanation

Weapon choice: Seeker of Dark Lung brings Strength plus Ultimate Gain, so her Ultimate does not stall out during early rotations.
Gear logic: Armored MSGR provides the largest early-game Strength and Attack totals even though its set effect is defensive rather than offensive.
Off-piece logic: Mordvolt Insulation Gloves are slotted in for the Arts DMG Bonus, since Armored MSGR gloves only contribute Final DMG Reduction that does nothing for her damage.

Notes

  • Seeker of Dark Lung covers Strength and Ultimate Gain, which the Armored MSGR set cannot offer on its own.
  • Mordvolt Insulation Gloves out-damage the matching set gloves thanks to their Arts DMG Bonus and Will.
  • This is a stepping-stone setup until a higher-rarity greatsword and Tide Surge pieces are acquired.

Build Insights

Last Rite fits Cryo-focused teams as either the primary damage dealer or a secondary DPS. As a main carry she builds the Combo Skill up to 4 Cryo Infliction stacks so the Cryo Susceptibility debuff is at its strongest, then fires her Ultimate into the weakened target while teammate buffs and debuffs are active. As a support-flavored option she pairs with other Cryo carries such as Yvonne, using her cheap Battle Skill to feed Infliction without consuming it herself, which lets her Ultimate come up roughly every third rotation. Because her whole kit revolves around Infliction bookkeeping, she wants allies who keep Cryo stacks alive, and she suffers in fights where enemies constantly apply conflicting Inflictions or where a boss and its weakpoint track separate counters.
Core Mechanics
  • Battle Skill Esoteric Legacy of Seš'qa refunds SP and, after a Final Strike, spawns a Mirage that deals extra Cryo damage and applies Cryo Infliction.
  • Winter's Devourer consumes all Cryo Infliction stacks on the target; firing it at 4 stacks gives the largest Cryo Susceptibility debuff and the most Ultimate Energy.
  • Ultimate Vigil Services costs a hefty 240 energy and Last Rite can only gain Ultimate Energy from her own Battle and Combo Skills.
  • Talent Hypothermia turns consumed Infliction stacks into Cryo Susceptibility, and Cryogenic Embrittlement amplifies that debuff while the Ultimate deals damage.
Scaling
  • Her damage is gated behind strict Cryo Infliction counts, so she performs best with teammates who generate or preserve those stacks instead of overwriting them.
  • Before Potential 4, or in comps that cannot reliably reach 4 stacks, she needs Ultimate Gain in her build to keep casting her Ultimate on a regular cadence.
  • Content that drains or converts Infliction (heat-based stages, split boss/weakpoint counters) lowers her ceiling noticeably compared to more flexible damage dealers.

Character Notes

Last Rite is a 6-star Cryo Striker who wields a greatsword and scales primarily with Strength and Will. She functions either as a hypercarry who lines up Cryo Susceptibility and a large Ultimate burst, or as a sub-DPS who feeds Cryo Infliction to another damage dealer. Her Battle Skill returns SP and applies Cryo Infliction at a very low cost, and her Combo Skill consumes those stacks to weaken the target, with her Ultimate converting that debuff into a massive damage window. The trade-off is rigidity: her rotations demand specific stack counts, she only generates Ultimate Energy from her own skills, and Infliction-disrupting stage mechanics can hold her back.
Playstyle
  • Apply Cryo Infliction with the Battle Skill after a Final Strike, then fire the Combo Skill at 4 stacks rather than the minimum 3 to get the strongest Cryo Susceptibility.
  • Cast the Ultimate right after the Combo Skill while the target is debuffed, and stack teammate buffs and debuffs before the Ultimate lands.
  • Keep track of Infliction counters on bosses and weakpoints so her stacks are not wasted or consumed at the wrong moment.
  • Position her so her Battle Skill's Mirage triggers on the intended target and her Combo Skill consumes stacks belonging to the correct enemy.
Strengths
  • Extremely efficient Cryo Infliction application thanks to an SP-returning Battle Skill.
  • Very high burst when Cryo Susceptibility and the Ultimate line up in the same window.
  • Flexible role coverage: she can lead a Cryo team or support another Cryo carry such as Yvonne.
Weaknesses
  • Rotations are strict and break down if the required Cryo Infliction count is not met.
  • Enemy or stage effects that consume Infliction sharply reduce her damage output.
  • Ultimate Energy only comes from her own skills, so she often needs Ultimate Gain before Potential 4.

Team Guide

bestcryo_teamburst_teamhypercarry
Last Rite sits at the center of this Cryo hypercarry setup, and every other slot exists to feed her damage. The plan is to pile up as many as four stacks of Cryo Infliction so her Combo Skill and Hypothermia talent reach their ceiling. Last Rite supplies a stack herself with a Final Strike while her Battle Skill is active, Xaihi's Combo Skill adds one, and Fluorite's Combo Skill contributes another once two stacks are already on the target. Ardelia layers debuffs on top, while Xaihi's Ultimate and Execute Process talent push the burst window even higher.

Explanation

Last Rite is the only real damage source; the other three slots are dedicated to boosting her burst.
Xaihi and Fluorite both contribute Cryo Infliction through their Combo Skills, making four stacks practical.
Ardelia's debuffs soften the target so Last Rite's Combo Skill and Ultimate hit harder.

Strengths

  • Reliably reaches four stacks of Cryo Infliction, capping Last Rite's Combo Skill and talent payoff.
  • Extremely high single-target burst once the setup is completed.

Weaknesses

  • Almost all of the team's damage comes from Last Rite, so losing her output cripples the comp.
  • The rotation demands accurate timing to stack and then consume Infliction at the right moment.

Rotation

  1. 1Open with Last Rite's Battle Skill and Xaihi's Battle Skill to set up the damage window.
  2. 2Chain basic attacks with Last Rite until the Final Strike lands the first Cryo Infliction stack, then trigger Ardelia's Combo Skill.
  3. 3Reuse Last Rite's Battle Skill and keep attacking until the next Final Strike applies a second Cryo Infliction stack.
  4. 4Fire Ardelia's Battle Skill to layer her debuffs onto the target.
  5. 5Trigger Xaihi's Combo Skill for the third Cryo Infliction stack, then Fluorite's Combo Skill for the fourth.
  6. 6Cast Xaihi's Ultimate if it is ready, then use Last Rite's Combo Skill to consume all four stacks, apply Cryo Susceptibility, and build Ultimate charge.
  7. 7Close the rotation with Last Rite's Ultimate into the debuffed target.
Stack four Cryo Infliction layers, then dump Last Rite's Combo Skill and Ultimate while the target carries Cryo Susceptibility.
alternativecryo_teamburst_teamdual_dps
Here Last Rite shares the carry role with Tangtang while Xaihi supports both of them. Each damage dealer applies their own debuff so the other hits harder, and the whole comp is tuned around a short, fast burst that fits inside Xaihi's brief debuff duration. The fourth slot can be either Arcane in WILL form or Fluorite; both options supply extra Cryo Infliction stacks, which helps Last Rite's debuff climb toward its maximum value.

Explanation

Two carries trade debuffs back and forth, so each one amplifies the other's damage.
Xaihi's debuff window is short, so the team favors quick burst over long sustained fights.
Arcane in WILL form or Fluorite fills the last slot and adds Cryo Infliction to push Last Rite's debuff higher.

Strengths

  • Splitting damage between two carries makes the comp more resilient if one gets disrupted.
  • Delivers a very fast burst inside Xaihi's limited debuff window.

Weaknesses

  • Timing is tight and the burst window closes quickly.
  • Needs the fourth slot to reliably reach the Infliction stacks that cap Last Rite's debuff.

Rotation

  1. 1Start with Last Rite's and Xaihi's Battle Skills to prepare the Mirages and the Auxiliary Crystal.
  2. 2Land a Final Strike with Last Rite so the Mirages appear and apply one Cryo Infliction stack.
  3. 3Trigger Tangtang's and Arcane's Combo Skills to apply their debuffs.
  4. 4Cast Last Rite's Battle Skill again and perform a second Final Strike to reach three Cryo Infliction stacks.
  5. 5Trigger Xaihi's Combo Skill for the fourth Cryo Infliction stack.
  6. 6Use Last Rite's Combo Skill to apply Cryo Susceptibility to the target.
  7. 7Cast Last Rite's Ultimate, whose damage is boosted by her Cryogenic Embrittlement talent.
Sample opening burst for the dual DPS team with Arcane in WILL form; the comp has many other ways to feed Cryo Infliction beyond this sequence.

Team Insights

Last Rite is the main damage dealer in every listed composition, and the surrounding picks exist to help her build and spend Cryo Infliction. Her Battle Skill enables a Final Strike that adds a stack, while her Combo Skill consumes stacked Infliction to apply Cryo Susceptibility and build Ultimate charge. Supports such as Xaihi, Fluorite, and Arcane contribute additional stacks, and Ardelia layers debuffs to lift the burst higher. Teams either go full hypercarry around Last Rite, or pair her with a second carry like Tangtang and accept a tighter rotation in exchange for more total damage.
Synergy Patterns
  • Xaihi's Combo Skill adds a Cryo Infliction stack after two Final Strikes while her Battle Skill is active.
  • Fluorite's Combo Skill adds another stack when the enemy already carries two.
  • Last Rite's Combo Skill consumes stacked Infliction to apply Cryo Susceptibility and charge her Ultimate.
  • Ardelia's debuffs raise the damage of Last Rite's entire burst window.
  • In the dual DPS setup, Tangtang and Last Rite trade debuffs so each boosts the other's output.
Tips
  • Tide Surge, Last Rite's preferred gear set, only triggers after she applies an Arts Infliction at least twice.
  • In the dual DPS team, taking control of Tangtang lets you sneak in a Dive Attack during Last Rite's Ultimate animation.
  • Hold Xaihi's Ultimate until the stack count is ready to be consumed, rather than firing it early.
  • Make sure the Infliction stacks are in place before spending Last Rite's Combo Skill, otherwise the payoff drops sharply.

Last Rite is a Sarkaz liaison from Seš'qa who volunteers her support to Endfield. Though she is Sarkaz, she was raised by a gravekeeping Caprinae couple before her own kind found her, and that upbringing is why she resists her Nachzehrer instinct to feed on the dead — a restraint that leaves her constantly hungry and adds to her shy, insecure demeanor. Her true name is Adelheid, with Last Rite being the operator codename she uses for Endfield Industries. Reports describe her as accompanied by a Death-like presence that manifests when she uses her Arts to manipulate death, and her profile hints she may be the inheritor of the Sovereign of Nachzerers title.
