Last Rite is an S-tier Cryo Striker who can run as a main hypercarry or as a supporting damage dealer. Her low-cost Battle Skill is among the cheapest ways to apply Cryo Infliction, letting her either enable another Cryo carry or fuel her own Combo Skill. That dependence on exact Infliction counts makes her more restrictive than other carries, and stage or boss mechanics can quietly gut her output.
The early game version of Last Rite runs Seeker of Dark Lung together with the Armored MSGR set. Seeker of Dark Lung is a lower-rarity greatsword that grants Strength and Ultimate Gain, which matters because Armored MSGR itself only raises her stats and survivability instead of boosting damage. Armored MSGR gives a large Strength bonus plus damage reduction when her HP falls below half, and its kit pieces add Attack on top. Mordvolt Insulation Gloves take the glove slot because their Arts DMG Bonus and Will scale her damage better than the Armored MSGR gloves, whose Final DMG Reduction does not contribute to her output. Treat this as a transitional build until better greatswords and Tide Surge gear are available.

Core Mechanics
- Battle Skill Esoteric Legacy of Seš'qa refunds SP and, after a Final Strike, spawns a Mirage that deals extra Cryo damage and applies Cryo Infliction.
- Winter's Devourer consumes all Cryo Infliction stacks on the target; firing it at 4 stacks gives the largest Cryo Susceptibility debuff and the most Ultimate Energy.
- Ultimate Vigil Services costs a hefty 240 energy and Last Rite can only gain Ultimate Energy from her own Battle and Combo Skills.
- Talent Hypothermia turns consumed Infliction stacks into Cryo Susceptibility, and Cryogenic Embrittlement amplifies that debuff while the Ultimate deals damage.
Scaling
- Her damage is gated behind strict Cryo Infliction counts, so she performs best with teammates who generate or preserve those stacks instead of overwriting them.
- Before Potential 4, or in comps that cannot reliably reach 4 stacks, she needs Ultimate Gain in her build to keep casting her Ultimate on a regular cadence.
- Content that drains or converts Infliction (heat-based stages, split boss/weakpoint counters) lowers her ceiling noticeably compared to more flexible damage dealers.
Team Role
Last Rite fits Cryo-focused teams as either the primary damage dealer or a secondary DPS. As a main carry she builds the Combo Skill up to 4 Cryo Infliction stacks so the Cryo Susceptibility debuff is at its strongest, then fires her Ultimate into the weakened target while teammate buffs and debuffs are active. As a support-flavored option she pairs with other Cryo carries such as Yvonne, using her cheap Battle Skill to feed Infliction without consuming it herself, which lets her Ultimate come up roughly every third rotation. Because her whole kit revolves around Infliction bookkeeping, she wants allies who keep Cryo stacks alive, and she suffers in fights where enemies constantly apply conflicting Inflictions or where a boss and its weakpoint track separate counters.

Explanation
Weapon choice: Seeker of Dark Lung brings Strength plus Ultimate Gain, so her Ultimate does not stall out during early rotations.
Gear logic: Armored MSGR provides the largest early-game Strength and Attack totals even though its set effect is defensive rather than offensive.
Off-piece logic: Mordvolt Insulation Gloves are slotted in for the Arts DMG Bonus, since Armored MSGR gloves only contribute Final DMG Reduction that does nothing for her damage.
Notes
- Seeker of Dark Lung covers Strength and Ultimate Gain, which the Armored MSGR set cannot offer on its own.
- Mordvolt Insulation Gloves out-damage the matching set gloves thanks to their Arts DMG Bonus and Will.
- This is a stepping-stone setup until a higher-rarity greatsword and Tide Surge pieces are acquired.
