Lifeng sits at S tier because he pairs reliable Physical damage with two things Physical teams badly want: a Physical Susceptibility debuff from his Battle Skill and a team-wide Link buff from his Combo Skill. He is not a selfish carry, but the amplification he hands to allies plus his own high-multiplier Ultimate keeps him relevant in endgame content.
This is Lifeng's endgame sub-DPS configuration. Mountain Bearer sits at the centre of it, supplying Agility plus damage bonuses he can keep active because his kit constantly places Vulnerability on enemies. The Swordmancer set covers Agility, Strength and Physical DMG Bonus on the main pieces, while Type 50 Yinglung Heavy Armor T1 fills the armour slot for compatible stats and extra Ultimate Gain Efficiency. The result is a build that lets Lifeng cycle his Battle Skill and Combo Skill quickly, stack Vulnerable on priority targets and still contribute meaningful stagger, since Swordmancer adds a bonus Physical hit and Stagger whenever he applies a Physical status. It is built for players who already have a Physical core to enable and who want Lifeng to both chip damage and accelerate the team's burst windows.

Core Mechanics
- Turbid Avatar is the rotation opener: it deals multiple Physical hits plus a Knock Down, and if the last hit lands on an enemy holding no Vulnerable stacks it applies Physical Susceptibility instead.
- The Combo Skill Aspect of Wrath fires when the controlled operator lands a Final Strike on a target that has Physical Susceptibility or Breach, and it grants Link to the whole squad.
- Link raises the damage of the next Battle Skill or Ultimate used by any ally, so the team should spend it on the biggest available ability.
- Heart of the Unmoving slams a Vajra, drags enemies toward the impact point, hits them a second time, and deals extra damage if the cast consumes Link.
- Talent Subduer of Evil turns every Knock Down into bonus Physical damage, which makes his stagger-oriented skills hit harder.
Scaling
- At low investment Lifeng rides on Strength and Ultimate Gain Efficiency, so cheap polearms such as Chimeric Justice keep him functional.
- As gear improves he pivots toward Agility and Physical DMG bonuses, which is why Mountain Bearer and the Swordmancer set are the long-term goal.
- Talent Illumination converts Intellect and Will into flat ATK, giving him a modest but permanent damage floor.
- His ceiling is team-dependent: the more often allies trigger Final Strikes and consume Link, the more value he generates.
Team Role
Lifeng works as the enabler half of a Physical composition rather than the primary damage dealer. He should be the first operator to act in a rotation, because his Battle Skill needs the target to be free of Vulnerable stacks before it can apply Physical Susceptibility. Once that debuff is up, the controlled operator gets their Final Strike on the mark, which fires his Combo Skill and hands the team Link. That Link should then be cashed in by whoever has the largest Battle Skill or Ultimate multiplier. His Ultimate is also best used right after the Combo Skill, since it converts Link into a large Physical burst and applies extra Vulnerable stacks. He fits naturally alongside other Physical damage dealers and anyone who can reliably reach Final Strikes, and his stagger contribution helps the team reach break points on bosses. He offers little healing, shielding or utility outside Physical damage amplification, so pair him with sustain and crowd control elsewhere.

Explanation
Mountain Bearer is picked because it stacks Agility while handing out damage bonuses that Lifeng can realistically maintain through his constant Vulnerability application.
Valiant is the closest substitute: it mirrors the Agility profile but trades the damage bonuses for an extra Physical hit.
Chimeric Justice and Pathfinder's Beacon are cheaper fallbacks that still cover Strength or raw attack, though they scale lower in endgame content.
The Swordmancer set supplies Agility, Strength and Physical DMG Bonus, and its set effect adds a follow-up Physical hit plus Stagger whenever a Physical status lands, which pairs with his Susceptibility debuff.
Type 50 Yinglung Heavy Armor T1 is slotted as the off-piece for matching stats and extra Ultimate Gain Efficiency, speeding up access to his high-multiplier Ultimate.
Notes
- Essence order for this setup is Efficacy first, then Agility Boost, then Physical DMG Boost.
- Mountain Bearer's passive is easy for Lifeng to keep live because he applies Vulnerable very consistently.
