Lifeng sits at S tier because he pairs reliable Physical damage with two things Physical teams badly want: a Physical Susceptibility debuff from his Battle Skill and a team-wide Link buff from his Combo Skill. He is not a selfish carry, but the amplification he hands to allies plus his own high-multiplier Ultimate keeps him relevant in endgame content.
endgamesub dpslate_gamephysical_dmgsub_dpsagility_scalingbossing
This is Lifeng's endgame sub-DPS configuration. Mountain Bearer sits at the centre of it, supplying Agility plus damage bonuses he can keep active because his kit constantly places Vulnerability on enemies. The Swordmancer set covers Agility, Strength and Physical DMG Bonus on the main pieces, while Type 50 Yinglung Heavy Armor T1 fills the armour slot for compatible stats and extra Ultimate Gain Efficiency. The result is a build that lets Lifeng cycle his Battle Skill and Combo Skill quickly, stack Vulnerable on priority targets and still contribute meaningful stagger, since Swordmancer adds a bonus Physical hit and Stagger whenever he applies a Physical status. It is built for players who already have a Physical core to enable and who want Lifeng to both chip damage and accelerate the team's burst windows.

Explanation
Mountain Bearer is picked because it stacks Agility while handing out damage bonuses that Lifeng can realistically maintain through his constant Vulnerability application.
Valiant is the closest substitute: it mirrors the Agility profile but trades the damage bonuses for an extra Physical hit.
Chimeric Justice and Pathfinder's Beacon are cheaper fallbacks that still cover Strength or raw attack, though they scale lower in endgame content.
The Swordmancer set supplies Agility, Strength and Physical DMG Bonus, and its set effect adds a follow-up Physical hit plus Stagger whenever a Physical status lands, which pairs with his Susceptibility debuff.
Type 50 Yinglung Heavy Armor T1 is slotted as the off-piece for matching stats and extra Ultimate Gain Efficiency, speeding up access to his high-multiplier Ultimate.
Notes
- Essence order for this setup is Efficacy first, then Agility Boost, then Physical DMG Boost.
- Mountain Bearer's passive is easy for Lifeng to keep live because he applies Vulnerable very consistently.
early gamesub dpsbeginnerearly_gamef2pphysical_dmg
This early game setup gives Lifeng a functional Physical sub-DPS package without requiring late-game farming. Chimeric Justice supplies Strength and Ultimate Gain Efficiency, which lets him reach his Ultimate more often while his stats are still low, and Aggeloslayer or Pathfinder's Beacon can stand in if that polearm has not dropped. The Roving MSGR set rounds things out with Attack and Physical DMG on the pieces themselves, plus Agility and additional Physical DMG from the set effect as long as he stays above the HP threshold. It does not reach the ceilings of the Swordmancer build, but it keeps his Susceptibility and Link contributions online while you progress, and every piece is replaceable later without changing how he is played.

Explanation
Chimeric Justice is chosen because it raises Strength and Ultimate Gain Efficiency, both of which matter while Lifeng's gear is still catching up.
The Roving MSGR set contributes Attack and Physical DMG bonuses on the individual pieces, while the set effect adds Agility and more Physical DMG while his HP stays high.
Aggeloslayer is a straight swap when Chimeric Justice is missing, and Pathfinder's Beacon is the other alternative the guide lists for this stage.
This is a stopgap setup: it uses easily acquired gear to keep his damage reasonable until Swordmancer and Mountain Bearer are farmed.
Notes
- Essence order here is Strength Boost, then Ultimate Gain Boost, then Brutality.
- Aggeloslayer or Pathfinder's Beacon can replace Chimeric Justice if it is not available yet.
Build Insights
Lifeng works as the enabler half of a Physical composition rather than the primary damage dealer. He should be the first operator to act in a rotation, because his Battle Skill needs the target to be free of Vulnerable stacks before it can apply Physical Susceptibility. Once that debuff is up, the controlled operator gets their Final Strike on the mark, which fires his Combo Skill and hands the team Link. That Link should then be cashed in by whoever has the largest Battle Skill or Ultimate multiplier. His Ultimate is also best used right after the Combo Skill, since it converts Link into a large Physical burst and applies extra Vulnerable stacks. He fits naturally alongside other Physical damage dealers and anyone who can reliably reach Final Strikes, and his stagger contribution helps the team reach break points on bosses. He offers little healing, shielding or utility outside Physical damage amplification, so pair him with sustain and crowd control elsewhere.
Core Mechanics
- Turbid Avatar is the rotation opener: it deals multiple Physical hits plus a Knock Down, and if the last hit lands on an enemy holding no Vulnerable stacks it applies Physical Susceptibility instead.
- The Combo Skill Aspect of Wrath fires when the controlled operator lands a Final Strike on a target that has Physical Susceptibility or Breach, and it grants Link to the whole squad.
- Link raises the damage of the next Battle Skill or Ultimate used by any ally, so the team should spend it on the biggest available ability.
- Heart of the Unmoving slams a Vajra, drags enemies toward the impact point, hits them a second time, and deals extra damage if the cast consumes Link.
- Talent Subduer of Evil turns every Knock Down into bonus Physical damage, which makes his stagger-oriented skills hit harder.
Scaling
- At low investment Lifeng rides on Strength and Ultimate Gain Efficiency, so cheap polearms such as Chimeric Justice keep him functional.
- As gear improves he pivots toward Agility and Physical DMG bonuses, which is why Mountain Bearer and the Swordmancer set are the long-term goal.
- Talent Illumination converts Intellect and Will into flat ATK, giving him a modest but permanent damage floor.
- His ceiling is team-dependent: the more often allies trigger Final Strikes and consume Link, the more value he generates.
Character Notes
Lifeng is a six-star Physical Guard armed with a polearm who functions as the support engine of Physical teams. His identity comes from two mechanics: Physical Susceptibility from his Battle Skill, which only lands when the target has no existing Vulnerable stacks, and Link from his Combo Skill, which boosts the next Battle Skill or Ultimate used by any ally. Because of that ordering requirement he wants to act early in a rotation, softening the target so teammates can follow up and convert the Link buff into a burst window. He also brings Knock Down, respectable stagger and a very high-multiplier Ultimate, so he is far from a pure support. His main stat is Agility, with Strength as a secondary, and his talent Illumination turns Intellect and Will into extra attack.
Playstyle
- Lead with Turbid Avatar before anyone else acts, because it can only apply Physical Susceptibility to enemies that do not already carry Vulnerable stacks.
- Have the controlled operator attack until their Final Strike lands on the afflicted enemy, which triggers Aspect of Wrath and hands the squad Link.
- Follow the Combo Skill with his Ultimate so it consumes Link, applies additional Vulnerable stacks and converts the buff into a large Physical hit.
- Level the Battle Skill first, then the Combo Skill, then the Ultimate; the Basic Attack can wait until last.
- Prioritise the Illumination talent for steady attack scaling, and pick up Subduer of Evil afterwards for extra Knock Down damage.
Strengths
- Applies Physical Susceptibility, raising the Physical damage the whole team deals to that target.
- Grants Link to allies, amplifying their next Battle Skill or Ultimate.
- Stacks Vulnerable on enemies, supporting both his own combo triggers and ally burst windows.
- Strong stagger and Knock Down tools, including a set that adds an extra Physical hit and Stagger.
- Very high damage multiplier on Heart of the Unmoving, especially when it consumes Link.
Weaknesses
- Physical Susceptibility only applies if the target has no Vulnerable stacks, so using his Battle Skill late in a rotation wastes it.
- His Combo Skill is gated behind a teammate landing a Final Strike on an afflicted enemy.
- Damage output depends on team investment; he amplifies allies rather than carrying alone.
- Basic Attack contributes little and is the lowest upgrade priority in his kit.
Team Guide
bestphysical_teamburst_team
Lifeng anchors this Physical lineup by stacking up to three Vulnerable marks with his Battle Skill and Ultimate — enough to enable both Breach and Crush in a single rotation when his Ultimate is available. He also spreads Physical Susceptibility and hands out a Link buff. Chen Qianyu piles on further Vulnerable marks, Pogranichnik turns those marks into Breach while restoring SP, and Mi Fu serves as the Crush carry that cashes everything in. Endministrator or Da Pan can take the carry slot in place of Mi Fu.
Explanation
Lifeng and Chen Qianyu both add Vulnerable, quickly reaching the four-stack threshold Pogranichnik needs to inflict Breach.
Pogranichnik doubles as the team's battery, refunding SP so the long Breach/Crush rotation can be sustained.
Mi Fu supplies the Crush payoff; her upgraded Battle Skill (Move 2 / Move 3) converts the stacked debuffs into a large hit.
Lifeng's Physical Susceptibility and Link buff further amplify the carry's burst window.
Strengths
- Can trigger both Breach and Crush inside one extended rotation for very high single-target Physical damage.
- The carry slot is flexible, so you can slot in Mi Fu, Endministrator, or Da Pan depending on who you own.
Weaknesses
- Depends on Lifeng's Ultimate being ready; the Crush half of the plan falls apart without it.
- The rotation is long and timing-sensitive, and there can be SP downtime between cycles.
Rotation
- 1Open with Pogranichnik's Ultimate to ready the Fervent Morale buff and begin regenerating SP through the rotation.
- 2Fire Lifeng's Ultimate to add one Vulnerable stack, then trigger Chen Qianyu's Combo Skill; hold Mi Fu's Combo Skill for later.
- 3Cast Chen Qianyu's Battle Skill to push Vulnerable to four stacks, then use Pogranichnik's Battle Skill to inflict Breach.
- 4Use Lifeng's Battle Skill to add another Vulnerable stack and apply Physical Susceptibility.
- 5Trigger Mi Fu's Combo Skill for a second Physical Susceptibility, then Pogranichnik's Combo Skill to recover SP.
- 6Perform Mi Fu's Final Strike, then trigger Lifeng's Combo Skill to gain Link.
- 7With Link active, use Mi Fu's Ultimate to consume it, upgrading her Battle Skill to Move 2 and adding a Vulnerable stack.
- 8Trigger Chen Qianyu's Combo Skill, then her Battle Skill to rebuild four Vulnerable stacks.
- 9Cast Mi Fu's Battle Skill to trigger Crush and convert her next Battle Skill into Move 3.
- 10Use Mi Fu's Battle Skill once more to execute Move 3 and close the burst window.
Build Vulnerable through Lifeng, Chen Qianyu, and Pogranichnik to trigger Breach, then let Mi Fu spend the stacked debuffs for a Crush burst.
f2pf2plow_investmentphysical_team
An accessible Lifeng composition built around free or low-investment units. Endministrator handles the main damage, Ardelia adds Corrosion plus Physical and Arts Susceptibility, and Chen Qianyu can take her slot for an even cheaper setup. Akekuri turns the team's high Stagger into extra SP. Lifeng applies Physical Susceptibility with his Basic Skill, gains Link through his Combo Skill, and then spends Link with his Ultimate or the DPS's Battle Skill.
Explanation
Lifeng uses his Basic Skill to apply Physical Susceptibility, then his Combo Skill to build a Link stack.
Endministrator is the primary damage dealer and can consume Link with his Battle Skill whenever Lifeng's Ultimate is not ready.
Ardelia applies Corrosion, then cashes it in with her Battle Skill for Physical and Arts Susceptibility, lifting the whole team's damage.
Akekuri refills SP whenever the enemy is staggered, which keeps the rotation loop alive.
Chen Qianyu is a free alternative for the support slot, trading healing and Arts susceptibility for more Vulnerability.
Strengths
- Uses easily obtainable characters, including Endministrator and Chen Qianyu from the opening chapter.
- Layered Physical and Arts Susceptibility raises incoming damage from multiple sources.
Weaknesses
- Lower damage ceiling than the dedicated mono-Physical team.
- Akekuri's SP generation depends on staggering the enemy.
Rotation
- 1Basic attack with Endministrator up to the Final Strike to trigger Ardelia's Combo Skill, applying Corrosion while also firing Endministrator's Combo Skill.
- 2Use Ardelia's Battle Skill to consume the Corrosion and apply Physical and Arts Susceptibility.
- 3Cast Lifeng's Basic Skill to pop the crystal and add a Vulnerable stack.
- 4Continue Endministrator's basic attacks to the Final Strike to trigger Lifeng's Combo Skill and gain Link, then spend Link with Lifeng's Ultimate for a heavy hit; if it is not ready, use Endministrator's Battle Skill instead.
- 5If the enemy is stunned or staggered, use Akekuri's Combo Skill to restore SP, and her Ultimate to restore even more, restarting the cycle.
Apply Physical Susceptibility with Lifeng's Basic Skill, gain Link with his Combo Skill, then spend Link on his Ultimate or the DPS's Battle Skill while Akekuri refills SP.
Team Insights
Lifeng is a Physical sub-DPS and enabler rather than a pure carry. His kit stacks Vulnerable (up to three marks through his Battle Skill and Ultimate), applies Physical Susceptibility, and grants a Link buff that a teammate can spend. Teams are therefore built around two goals: helping him reach the four-Vulnerable threshold so a partner can trigger Breach, and pairing him with a Crush carry who can cash in the stacked debuffs. Chen Qianyu is his most natural partner for extra Vulnerable, Pogranichnik converts stacks into Breach while regenerating SP, and carries like Mi Fu, Endministrator, or Da Pan close out the damage. Budget setups lean on Endministrator plus Chen Qianyu or Ardelia and Akekuri.
Synergy Patterns
- Lifeng + Chen Qianyu: both stack Vulnerable, quickly reaching the four-mark Breach trigger.
- Lifeng + Pogranichnik: Vulnerable marks are spent on Breach while SP is refunded for the next cycle.
- Lifeng + Crush carry (Mi Fu / Endministrator / Da Pan): the carry converts the stacked debuffs into a Crush hit.
- Lifeng's Link buff + a partner's Ultimate: boosts a single burst window.
Tips
- Line up Lifeng's Ultimate and Link with the carry's burst so the debuffs and buff all overlap.
- Apply Lifeng's Physical Susceptibility just before the main damage window rather than too early.
- Trigger Akekuri after a stagger to refill SP and keep the rotation running.
- Swap between Chen Qianyu and Ardelia depending on whether you need more Vulnerability or more healing and Arts susceptibility.
