ZZZ Area Patrol Double Drops: Five Days to Farm Smarter, Not Harder

If you have been holding off on building your roster because material grinding feels too slow, Zenless Zone Zero is about to give you a reason to log in every day for almost a full week. The Advanced Bounty: Area Patrol event returns on 2026-09-23 at 04:00 server time and runs until 2026-09-28 at 03:59, doubling everything that drops from Area Patrol stages. No extra Battery is charged for the bonus, which makes this one of the most efficient windows on the ZZZ calendar.

Who gets in and what it costs

The event does not open its doors to everyone, and the entry bar is worth checking before you plan around it. Your Inter-Knot level needs to be at 21, you have to finish the Reputation Rank-Up Mission called “Path of the Proxy I,” and Area Patrol itself must be unlocked on your account. Newer players who have not cleared that mission yet should treat it as the priority, because the whole event only lasts five days.

Once you are in, the mechanics are refreshingly simple. Pick any Area Patrol stage, clear it, and the rewards come back doubled. There is no special ticket, no event currency, and no separate shop to manage. You just run stages you would have run anyway and get more out of each one.

Why the daily buffs actually matter

Beyond the flat double drops, two challenges get a buff every single day. These reset at 04:00 server time, so they line up with the daily reset and are easy to check before you start your farming session. The buffs can make a stage easier or hand you better returns, which means ignoring them is leaving value on the table.

That said, the buffs are not the whole story. Because every stage is doubled for the whole event, the real decision is not whether to farm but what to farm. Players who are stuck on character ascension materials should chase those stages first. Anyone hoarding for a future banner pull should think about which materials the next character on their list will actually need, then target those specific drops.

Battery management is the quiet trap

Here is the catch that catches people off guard: double rewards do not double your Battery cost, but they also do not remove it. Every run still spends Battery, and with a five-day window it is very easy to burn through your reserves and then keep going. If you have refills saved, spending some of them here is a reasonable call, but do not drain everything. Upcoming banner phases will bring their own resource demands, and a fully drained Battery the day after the event ends is a bad position to be in.

Free-to-play players should be especially careful here. The smart play is to pick the one or two stages that drop your most needed materials and focus almost entirely on those. Splitting your runs across five different stages might feel productive, but it usually leaves you with a little bit of everything and not enough of anything.

Should you bother with it at all

Yes, and the reasoning is not complicated. Double drops are rare, time-limited, and require no spending to take advantage of. A mid-game account that clears a handful of stages each day will come out of this event noticeably further along than one that skips it. The efficiency gain is simply too large to ignore when the only real cost is your time.

Just do not leave your runs for the final hours. The event shuts down at 03:59 server time on 2026-09-28, and server maintenance or an unexpected hiccup can eat into your last session. Treat the deadline as if it lands a few hours earlier than it actually does, and you will not have to learn that lesson the hard way.
