Best Tips & Tricks for Yangyang: Xuanling

Yangyang Xuanling is a standard DPS despite revolving around the Havoc Bane mechanic, as her DMG output mainly revolves around Heavy Attack DMG rather than the Negative Status DMG itself. Build her as with most Heavy Attack DMG-based DPS units like Jiyan or Augusta.

Focus on building Crit stats, ATK, and Havoc DMG, with the Song of Feathered Trace set providing the best effects that boost her damage.

For substats, try to roll and balance your Crit ratio, Heavy Attack DMG, ATK, and at least 115% Energy Regen for better rotations.

Azure Oath is her signature weapon and best-in-slot, as the weapon effect is practically made for her, drastically buffing her damage output by boosting Heavy Attack DMG against targets.

She benefits well off any ATK and Crit-based weapon and works even better with Heavy Attack DMG-based weapon effects.

Upgrade Yangyang's primary sources of damage first, which are her Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation skills. Afterwards, level up her Normal Attacks, followed by her Resonance Skill and Intro Skill for more damage.

Pair her with teammates that apply Havoc Bane to trigger her Feathered Oath passive and maximize her Crit. DMG buffs.

Her Outro Skill grants Tonal Switch for 20s, Amplifying the Havoc DMG of teammates by 20% for the next Resonator, making her a good Havoc team support as well.

Premium Havoc Bane Team

Yangyang: Xuanling's best team is undoubtedly with her older sister, Suisui, alongside Chisa. Both Suisui and Chisa work to funnel as much buffs to Yangyang, who has some of the highest DMG outputs in the game. Suisui greatly boosts the entire team's damage with her All DMG amplification, ATK boost, and total DMG increase. On top of this, she also provides DEF and Havoc RES ignore while inflicting Glacio Chafe and heals off-field. Chisa further backs this up with her own DEF ignore buffs via her kit, while giving access to Yangyang's max passive self-buffs due to her increasing the max stack limit of Havoc Bane by 3. This provides Yangyang with a huge boost in her output, making her one of the strongest DPS units available in this comp.

Heavy Attack Hypercarry Team

Yangyang Xuanling works well alongside a dedicated Heavy Attack DMG buffer like Rebecca and a healer, which we have as Chisa for her Negative Status application. Since most of Yangyang Xuanling's kit revolves around Heavy Attack DMG, she'll perform quite well so long as Rebecca and Chisa can funnel the buffs towards her. Rebecca deals excellent damage for a sub-DPS while providing All DMG and Heavy Attack DMG amplification that Yangyang Xuanling benefits from. Meanwhile, Chisa can apply Havoc Bane and reduce enemies' DEF stats with her kit to further buff Yangyang. Aside from this, she also maximizes the stack limit of Havoc Bane by an additional 3 points, letting her unlock the full extent of Yangyang's Inherent Skill.

Yangyang Xuanling can work in a dual DPS setup with Phrolova, as both units can provide Havoc DMG buffs with their Outro skills. In this team, Yangyang can stay for much longer on-field while Phrolova deals additional combos through Hecate. Yangyang's F2P team consists of her, Electro Rover, and Verina to make up for a strong budget composition. Electro Rover is able to provide decent buffs to characters who inflict Negative Statuses, which Yangyang will maximize alongside her own self-buffs. Meanwhile, Verina is an optional free 5-star pickup for players to get. She gives good DMG buffs and healing, while also providing coordinated attacks through her Liberation.
