Last Rite is a powerful Cryo Striker who can act as a hypercarry or a Cryo enabler. She deals high burst damage and applies a valuable Cryo Susceptibility debuff, but her reliance on stacking Cryo Infliction makes her more team-dependent than most S-tier carries.
This early-game setup uses Armored MSGR for flat Strength and Attack bonuses, giving Last Rite solid damage before endgame gear loops are available. Mordvolt Insulation Gloves add Arts DMG and Will, which are more valuable than defensive reductions for her kit. It's meant as a transitional build: swap to Tide Surge and Swordmancer Light Armor once you can clear endgame content and want consistent burst rotations.

Insights

Core Mechanics

  • Her Esoteric Legacy of Seš'qa empowers the next Final Strike with a Mirage that applies Cryo Infliction, giving her a cheap self-stacking tool.
  • Her Winter's Devourer consumes every Cryo Infliction stack on a target; it triggers at 3 stacks, but waiting for 4 stacks creates a stronger Cryo Susceptibility debuff.
  • Her Vigil Services is a burst ultimate that gains energy only from her Battle Skill and Combo Skill, so rotations must be carefully planned.
  • Consuming Infliction stacks applies Cryo Susceptibility, and Cryogenic Embrittlement makes her Ultimate amplify that susceptibility even further.

Scaling

  • Last Rite's damage scales primarily with Strength, Attack, and damage bonuses such as Skill DMG and Cryo DMG; Will also contributes to her stat budget.
  • Ultimate uptime scales with Ultimate Gain or Potential 4, which reduces Ultimate cost; teams that can reliably stack 4 Cryo Inflictions let her drop some energy investment.

Team Role

Last Rite fits as both a main hypercarry and a sub-DPS in Cryo teams. As a carry, she builds up Cryo Infliction with her Battle Skill, consumes 4 stacks with Combo Skill to apply a large Cryo Susceptibility debuff, and follows with Ultimate for the burst window. As a sub-DPS, she can support Cryo carries such as Yvonne by providing cheap Cryo Infliction and a debuff. She needs teammates who can add Cryo stacks reliably, like Ardelia, Fluorite, or Xaihi, and she struggles in stages that interfere with Infliction stacks.

Explanation

In the early game, Armored MSGR's raw Strength and Attack bonuses are the easiest way to raise Last Rite's damage without relying on set-effect uptime.
The Mordvolt Insulation gloves are preferred because Last Rite doesn't need the Final DMG Reduction from the Armored MSGR gloves; Arts DMG and Will are more useful.
Since the guide doesn't give a separate early weapon list, keep using Khravengger if you have it; otherwise use the lower-rarity alternatives from the weapon priority table.

Notes

  • Armored MSGR gives flat Strength and Attack from its set pieces, which is simple and effective before endgame sets are available.
  • Mordvolt Insulation Gloves is used as the glove off-piece for Arts DMG Bonus and Will; it edges out the Armored MSGR gloves because Last Rite wants damage stats.
  • Follow the same weapon priority list; Seeker of Dark Lung and Industry 0.1 make good budget options before obtaining Khravengger.
