Dehya's Elemental Burst cannot trigger effects that trigger on normal attack animations or damage (e.g. Xingqiu, Beidou).
At C1, HP% becomes a viable stat for Dehya competing with ATK% stats while providing survivability. Additionally, 5-star weapon stat sticks can be worse than some 4-star options as their high Base ATK stats matter less.
Some key considerations for Dehya's build include:
- Choosing between HP% and ATK% for survivability and damage respectively
- Selecting the optimal weapon based on Base ATK and substats

Dehya as a support character is not reliant on her Elemental Burst to support the team as a damage tank.
This is because Dehya's kit provides consistent damage reduction and healing to the team through her Elemental Skill and passive talents, making her a reliable support character even without relying on her Elemental Burst.

Since Dehya does not need her Elemental Burst to trigger reactions, she doesn't need to build Energy Recharge.
This allows for more flexibility in her build, as she can focus on other stats such as Attack and Defense to increase her overall damage output.
When building Dehya, consider the following:
- Focus on Attack and Defense to increase her damage output
- Use Artifact sets that provide bonus effects such as increased Pyro damage
- Choose a Weapon that complements her playstyle and provides a high 20% or higher crit rate
Dehya can be played in three different roles: ON FIELD DPS, SUPPORT, and REACTION DPS.
ON FIELD DPS Dehya relies on using her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst to do damage.
Regarding Weapon Choice:
- Serpent Spine: Dehya has a hard time keeping up this weapon's stacks. At R5, this weapon can perform better than Wolf's Gravestone.
- Mailed Flower: This weapon is only useful in Melt or Vaporize teams and should not be considered otherwise.
- Rainslasher: Only useful in Vaporize teams. At R5, this weapon performs similar to Redhorn Stonethresher.
- Tidal Shadow: Assumes Dehya is being healed.
- Talking Stick: Assumes Dehya is affected by Pyro. At R5, this weapon performs better than Tidal Shadow R5.
- A Thousand Blazing Suns: As Dehya needs to place her Elemental Skill at the very start of the rotation to not suffer from very high Energy Recharge requirements, she often cannot have this weapon's passive active during her Burst. In teams where 10 seconds pass between her Skill and Burst use, this weapon performs similar to Redhorn Stonethresher.
- Akuoumaru: At R5, this weapon performs better than Wolf's Gravestone.
- Unfinished Reverie (4): This is Dehya's best set if played in a team with Burning present.
- Marechaussee Hunter (4): With Furina on the team, this set performs similar to or better than Emblem of Severed Fate, depending on Dehya's Energy Recharge requirement.
SUPPORT Dehya uses her Elemental Skill to do passive damage and apply Pyro, while providing the team with interruption resistance and tank damage. Regarding Weapon Choice:
- Sacrificial Greatsword R5: For some teams, this weapon can be crucial to enable shorter rotation times.
- Instructor (4): A useful set if the team appreciates Elemental Mastery.
- Deepwood Memories (4): This set is only useful in teams that are focused on Dendro damage, including Bloom-based teams.
REACTION DPS Dehya uses her Elemental Skill to trigger reactions like Overload or Burgeon while off field. Regarding Weapon Choice:
- Sacrificial Greatsword R5: For some teams, this weapon can be crucial to enable shorter rotation times.
