Klee has access to a number of animation cancels that allow her to deal damage with her talents faster than normal.
Her N1 can be canceled through holding a directional key while clicking attack. This can be chained over and over again to produce a "machine gun" effect.
Her optimal combos include N1C and N2C. N1C is higher DPS but eats stamina faster, while N2C has more consistency in keeping enemies stunned and gives a higher chance of obtaining her A1 passive onto the following CA.
Some key points to consider when playing Klee:
- Using elemental reactions to increase damage output
- Managing stamina to maintain a consistent combo
- Positioning to maximize the effect of her explosive attacks

Klee is a Pyro character who requires great positioning and can be prone to interruptions, making the use of a shielder a viable option to increase survivability. However, her best teams do not include a shielder, and running one can decrease total DPS. You can choose teammates depending on your level of skill and comfortability.
Regarding Weapon Choice: rankings assume Klee is in a team with Bennett and a shielder.
The Widsith at R5 performs better than Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. Klee cannot reliably utilize the Elemental Mastery buff.
The Memory of Dust performs worse than Solar Pearl when played without a shielder.
The Solar Pearl at R5 performs better than The Widsith at R1. When using Solar Pearl, it is recommended to animation cancel a Normal Attack into an Elemental Skill and cancel that into her Elemental Burst at the start of her field time.
The Flowing Purity performs better than Crane's Echoing Call if you are able to reliably clear the Bond of Life.
Regarding Artifact Sets:
- Lavawalker (4): a viable set due to Klee's constant Pyro application, although her kit makes it harder to utilize Vaporize and Melt reactions.
- Crimson Witch of Flames (4): recommended in a team where Klee can trigger Vaporize consistently.
- Wanderer's Troupe (4): increases the Charged Attack by another 35% Damage Bonus, but can be hard to put into practice due to Klee's clunky attack animations.
- Marechaussee Hunter (4): becomes Klee's best set in teams running Furina, with a significant DPS increase compared to split set options.
Regarding Substats: Elemental Mastery is only useful on Klee if she can reliably trigger some reactions, such as Vaporize or Melt. If not, then it can be ignored.
