Aventurine Waveflair Arrives in Honkai Star Rail Version 4.5 — What Players Should Know

Honkai: Star Rail keeps the SP variant trend alive. Following Silver Wolf SP and Himeko Nova, version 4.5 phase two introduces Aventurine Waveflair — also called Aventurine SP — on September 12, 2026. For anyone who skipped his original run or wants a fresh take on the Preservation path, this banner raises the usual question: is a second version of an existing character worth the Stellar Jade?

The answer depends on your account, but here is what is confirmed so far and what remains uncertain.

Banner at a glance

  • Character: Aventurine Waveflair (Aventurine SP)
  • Version: 4.5, phase two
  • Rarity: 5-star
  • Path and element: Preservation, Imaginary (based on the original version — official SP kit details are not fully confirmed)
  • Banner runs: September 12, 2026, through September 27, 2026
  • Featured 4-stars: Ashveil (Lightning, Hunt), Sampo (Wind, Nihility), Hook (Fire, Destruction), Guinaifen (Fire, Nihility)

Standard 5-star rates apply: a 0.6 percent base chance per pull, a guaranteed 5-star within 90 pulls, and the usual 50/50 system. Win that coin flip and you get Aventurine Waveflair; lose it and the next 5-star is guaranteed to be him.

Server-specific release times

Because each server region resets on its own clock, the exact moment Aventurine Waveflair goes live is not the same for everyone. Asia gets first access, then Europe, then America. Here is when the banner starts in each region.

America server

  • PT (UTC-7): September 12, 2026, 10:00 AM
  • MT (UTC-6): September 12, 2026, 11:00 AM
  • CT (UTC-5): September 12, 2026, 12:00 PM
  • ET (UTC-4): September 12, 2026, 1:00 PM
  • AEST (UTC+10): September 13, 2026, 3:00 AM

Europe server

  • GMT (UTC+0): September 12, 2026, 12:00 PM
  • CET (UTC+1): September 12, 2026, 1:00 PM

Asia server

  • IST (UTC+5:30): September 12, 2026, 9:30 AM
  • SGT (UTC+8): September 12, 2026, 12:00 PM
  • JST (UTC+9): September 12, 2026, 1:00 PM
  • AEST (UTC+10): September 12, 2026, 2:00 PM

All times are server time, meaning the banner drops at noon server-side regardless of where you live. Check the table for your local equivalent.

What the SP label means for the kit

HoYoverse has not released full details on Aventurine Waveflair’s abilities. That is worth noting because the SP naming convention has signaled role shifts before. Silver Wolf SP played differently from the original Silver Wolf. Himeko Nova was not a straight copy of Himeko either. So assuming Aventurine Waveflair is just a shield bot with a new skin would be a mistake.

The original Aventurine built his reputation on team-wide shields and follow-up attack synergy. If the SP variant keeps the Preservation path and Imaginary element, those strengths carry over. But if the kit changes his path or element — which is possible — the team-building calculus shifts entirely. Until official materials arrive, treat the path and element listed above as unconfirmed.

Pull advice by account type

Whether to pull depends on what you already have and what you expect from the SP version.

Free-to-play players. If your account already runs a strong sustain like Luocha, Huohuo, or Fu Xuan, you can afford to wait. Aventurine Waveflair would need to bring something those units cannot do — a unique mechanic that lifts a specific team — to justify the pull. But if you lack any premium Preservation character, he fills a real gap.

Low-spend players. Look at your current roster honestly. If Memory of Chaos or high-difficulty Simulated Universe runs are giving you trouble, a new limited 5-star can smooth those fights. Just remember that version 4.5 phase one likely has another new character. Budget your pulls accordingly.

Meta-focused players. If Aventurine Waveflair ends up synergizing with follow-up attack teams — think Dr. Ratio or Topaz — or introduces a new archetype, he could become a core piece. Watch for official kit reveals before the banner ends. There is no rush to pull day one.

Potential team synergies (with a caveat)

Without confirmed kit data, any team discussion is speculative. That said, if Aventurine Waveflair retains his original shielding and follow-up utility, these partners make sense:

  • Dr. Ratio. His follow-up attacks benefit from Aventurine’s shields and debuff application.
  • Topaz and Numby. Another follow-up core that values defensive support.
  • Robin. Her team-wide buffs pair well with a sustain that does not demand much field time.
  • Ratio, Topaz, Robin, and Aventurine. A classic follow-up composition that stays strong if the SP kit preserves that loop.

If the SP variant changes his role, these recommendations could be obsolete on launch day. We will update this section once official information arrives.

What else version 4.5 phase two holds

Phase two banners usually overlap with the tail end of a major event or the start of a smaller one. HoYoverse has not outlined the full version 4.5 event schedule yet, but players can expect login rewards, Stellar Jade from daily missions, and possibly a new event tied to the banner. Check the official Honkai: Star Rail website for the latest event announcements.
